It was madness
Rank: First Sergeant
Unit: Nahal Brigade
Area: Ramallah and al-Bireh area
period: October 2000

They caught a child, really a child, an eleven or twelve-year-old, I don't know how old, who threw stones. They managed to catch him. It was real abuse. It was abuse and I don't think they did something about it. They pushed him into the toilet, and I remember the soldier, I remember, he was a friend, a friend from the company. And he boasted about pushing the boy's head into the toilet.

Into the bowl?Into the bowl. He boasted about it. And knocked his head on the bowl and I don't know what else. They pushed him into the bathroom, he was locked there the whole day. The child was locked in the bathroom a whole day by order of the company commander, to teach him a lesson. He was simply locked in the bathroom, just like that. And from time to time, you know, there was a soldier guarding him, there was a guard, he would go in, stick his head in the toilet bowl, knock his head on the bowl, and I remember being shocked when he told me about it, but you know, who am I that I should report it? Today I see it differently, but then, at the time, it was, I think it was madness. Yes, no doubt about it. I remember the child crying and a real mess, they really abused him. He was in shock as it is, brought to the "Zionist enemy", doesn't know where, to a platoon of soldiers who want to kill him just because he's thrown a stone.
