It is hard to look at the destructive consequences that the Bibi-Trump alliance has on the occupied territories without concluding that it is essential for progressive Jews from the U.S and Israel to work together. Settlements are expanding, the military regime grows evermore oppressive, and our leaders allow the situation in Gaza to deteriorate as more protesters are shot to death every weekend. We must work together in order to fight back.
During October 2018 Breaking the Silence will be working with J Street U in order to bring the reality of the occupation to college students and Jewish communities across the U.S.
BtS Members Achiya Schatz, a former combatant in the elite ‘Duvdevan’ unit and currently our Director of Communications, and Frima (Merphie) Bubis, a former Sgt. In the Civil Administration and currently our Jewish Diaspora coordinator, will be touring the U.S.
They will break the silence in order to build bridges with Jews who are sick of checking their progressive values at the door when it comes to the occupation, and with anyone willing to work with us for a just Israel that doesn’t control the lives of millions of Palestinians.
