We had a huge deputy company commander, [he] was very tall. Now, this very large deputy company commander [was] not particularly intelligent. His signal operator told me once that he feels like a seeing eye dog walking in front of him and trying to explain his conduct. So he discovered at some point that when he kicks a door very hard, it usually breaks.
The deputy? The deputy company commander. He did it once. There were some who got a real kick out of it and they would really encourage him to do it. They got a kick out of it in the sense that it was cool: “Go on, go on, show [us] how you break the gate.” Usually breaking doors was something we would decide on in advance, we wouldn’t decide on the spot, but sometimes he would break doors because someone on the ground told him: Go on, go on, try to break the door.
