What was that? There were two houses, higher up on the hill, where they would shoot from the most [often]. And the – what are they called? The Yael [engineering unit] came. They blew up those houses in one blast. It was a kind of event. There was a boom and the houses disappeared. And we all waited, there was a countdown, all the Jews came out of their houses, it was a kind of ceremony. And I'm there on the roof, alone, waiting for them to blow it up. It was at around 7 P.M. and then I hear them counting down in the post below, ten, nine, eight, seven, and suddenly boom, the two houses explode. And my radio doesn't work and I don't understand. I knew they were going to blow them up, but how come I’m alone and there’s no one here, just hearing the boom and the houses falling down. And suddenly they start firing on us like crazy from all Abu Sneina. And I'm there, I'm at the post, and I’m alone, and I don't know – should I fire, not fire. My radio isn't working, I’m not allowed to leave the post, and I’m all just sitting there and crying. Instead of shooting, I just sat and cried the whole night, until they relieved me at 6 in the morning. No one came. No one. The whole night I sat there, and every noise, every time someone moved, and it's roofs of Palestinians, all the houses around them are Palestinian too.
Where is that? I'm imagining you’re in Avraham Avinu. No, it's in the side of Avraham Avinu on the Palestinian houses. Next to the 4-5 gate. I'm sitting there and all I want is to run, and there was no one. I sat there and the radio wasn't working, and I'm trying to shout to the soldier in the Bananas (a nearby post): Bananas, Bananas – and no one there paid attention to me.
