Qalqiliya was under curfew
Rank: First Sergeant
Unit: Armored Corps
Area: Qalqilya area
period: August 2002

Qalqiliya was under curfew, no one was allowed out. A tank stationed at the position enforcing this curfew, on a strategic hill, encountered a Palestinian farmer who tried to get through with some donkey and cart. He was told to leave the cart. I didn't witness this myself, but I know for sure it happened because there were inquiries made in the company. So the cart stayed there next to the tank. Then the tank crew, and especially the commander, thought it would be fun to run it over. They trampled it. Reservists happened to see this – it was Golani – and reported it, and disciplinary measures were taken. The tank commander was punished.
