Every soldier who testified about his or her military service knows that there is a price to pay for breaking silence, and yet the price of silence itself is much higher.
The right wing and the pro-occupation camp are acting violently, as usual. They curse, threat, incite and intimidate, trying to silence the criticism of soldiers who experienced the situation firsthand, in attempt to hide the truth they fear the Israeli public will discover.
We, over 1000 soldiers who broke the silence, understand that it is our duty to speak about our military service. We refuse to be silent and surrender to a climate of violence and intimidation. We will continue to talk about what we were sent to do in the public’s name, in the West Bank and Gaza.
We will continue to speak, for the sake of our collective future.
