We had a snipers' post pointing at the road. The building we were in was near the refugee camp; there was a refugee camp in the center of Ramallah, I don't remember its name. Our house commanded the refugee camp, that's why we were there, and there was a sniper's post. What we did, the rules of engagement then were, you can shoot to kill people who were holding molotov cocktails, because it's a life-threatening situation. Whoever was holding a molotov cocktail. And we knew they were going to throw it, we saw them, reconnoitred them, there was a molotov cocktail in their hands and they never threw it, never ignited it. So to make them do it we acted like one of the platoon commanders suggested. They told the sniper, " Get ready", and we'd just come from Offer camp, brought supplies or something, and said, "okay, let's pass, let him throw the molotov cocktail and then the sniper can put him down." We intentionally provoked him and with the armored vehicles took a road that we didn't usually take, and then he threw the molotov cocktail and the sniper hit him. It was a ten-year-old.
A child?A ten-year-old, a child. That's what he did there. You know, it was a diversion just in order to shoot somebody. For I don't know what. Just a story.
