Did you ever happen to kill anyone?Personally, no, but my unit did. We were among the forces entering the Muqata'a in Ramallah, a certain building. Just before we went in, I think it was while the D-9 was breaking some wall so we could enter through it, someone was walking down the street there, and it seemed pretty strange, his being there, because there was clearly fighting going on, it wasn't some quiet moment. There were tanks in the street and all, and he just kept walking, so he was shot.
Did the guys yell at him to stop?I don't remember their yelling at him. I remember that they assumed he was crazy if he just kept walking like that, but also assumed that if he doesn't stop perhaps he's wearing an explosive belt and shouldn't be allowed to approach.
Was any shot taken in his direction? Did they try to shoot him in the legs?I was further back so I don't exactly know. I was far from the spot. I just saw guys shooting but didn't see the man. I didn't see him fall or anything, so it's hard for me to say, but I don't remember any exchanges such as, "There a guy approaching us." or anything.
You were carrying the radio equipment?Yes, and I also saw them firing, but I didn't hear anyone calling out, "Shoot in the air" or anything.
Did they "confirm kill"him? No, he was shot at relatively long range and they did not approach him. Then we ran into the Muqata'a and that was it.
